Hanging an axe

Seems like a decent axe handle is getting hard to find.  Perhaps some of these new companies are just in the habit of flooding the market with poorly made ones and are drowning out the smaller good guys.  I don't think it is lack of good wood, hickory and ash are still in good supply, but no good if cut wrong.  My little Swedish axe finally needed a new handle.  Here is how I went about putting a new one on.  I have to say that lacquer on handles is a pet peeve of mine.  It is hard on the hands and needs to come off.  I can understand that most people would not buy a handle off the shelf that looks dirty so that is why they put the horrible finish on them.  I would rather put up with the dirt.

Thanks for dropping by.
