Spring tune ups

I gotta take a pause on the tool chest build because…well….spring! I wanted to get this out as it is seasonally appropriate. Winter is over and it’s time to get ready for the warmer weather and undo some of the things that go with winter. A whole slew of handy tips and things that will make life just a little easier. I gotta say, this is pretty much my favourite time of the year.

  1. Hi Jim. I just discovered this blog from one of your own forum posts. http://lumberjocks.com/topics/31573 I'm in the planning stages of building my own shop so I'm trying to learn from others first. Just wanted to say I really appreciate your work and I'm inspired by how you aren't afraid to post the real stuff, not just the 'perfect' stuff. The internet is intimidating for amateurs, so much professional-grade work is on display! I think I'd like to follow your example and document my adventure too. I'll bet writing about your struggles and little wins really helps to keep things moving forward. I spend too much time overthinking and researching and not enough doing. I've proud of what I've learned over the past few years and of what I can do with my craigslist treasures. Time to take the next step and build my modest dream shop. Thanks again friend.

    1. Thank you so much Nate. I am not a pro at anything, but I have a long history of working with my hands and figuring things out. There are a lot of resources on the internet. One of my sayings is that "minimum code is just that, minimum". I try to build to a better standard than that and it has served me well. Good luck with your shop, a lot of beautiful things have come out of small shops.
